A picture is worth a thousand words!
For this reason, knowing how to make good photos and videos is vital when representing a brand.
If you want to be chosen as Ambassador or be reelected and promoted to the categories of PRE-PRO Ambassador, PRO Ambassador or TOP Ambassador, you must always bear in mind that your job as Ambassador is to show off the products of the brand that has trusted you. And do it in the best possible way!
Let's begin with some general tips:
SHOW THE BEST OF THE PRODUCT:
Iron your clothing before wearing it, try to show all clean and with the best presentation possible!
Do not wear glasses in the photos. They avoid showing your beautiful features are distract the attention. Your work is to be a model! Try to always have a "ballerina" or "fashion" look. Sunglasses for example will be considered part of a fashion look.
Take care of your hairstyle and general look. Messy hair, poorly painted or dirty nails, dirty tights, dirty ballet shoes, etc. will bring too much attention. But not the good one!
Now some tips to create the best content! Represented in six cases: in each case, the “WOW!” version It is the one that explains how a GOOD photo / video should be and the “WOOPS” version is the one that explains what a BAD photo / video is like.
Our Ambassadors selected on 2020 made amazing examples of these cases with their respective “WOW!” and “WOOPS” versions. We hope this will be useful for you!
CASE 1: BE PRESUMPTUOUS BUT NOT TOO AMBITIOUS!
WOW! version: Full body photo or video showing your artistic talent and technical skills but taking care that the BALLET PAPIER product you want to show looks good, that it does not look too far away and that it clearly shows the design.
WOOPS! version: Full body photo or video showing your artistic talent and technical skills but without making the BALLET PAPIER product you want to show look good, or look far away, or be covered by something or not show off good for the angle.
CASE 2: NOTHING FEELS AS GOOD AS LOOKING GOOD FEELS
WOW! version: A close-up photo or video wearing or showing the BALLET PAPIER product of your election. Make the design and any important detail that you want to highlight clearly visible.
WOOPS! version: A close-up photo or video of you wearing or showing the BALLET PAPIER product of your election but where, although you’re looking very well and clear the BALLET PAPIER product don’t look good; the design is not clear, or it is covered by some objects or because of the position and angle is not well distinguishable.
CASE 3: COMBO BOMBO (about representing other brands)
Sometimes it can be nice to combine our products with other ballet brands' items that you may represent as well, but you have to know how to do it very well.
It is essential that you consider the prominence of the product and the brand that you want to highlight in the photo or video.
For example, if you combine a BALLET PAPIER t-shirt with matching leg warmers from another brand, it can be very cool. If you know how to combine the products of the brands that you use cleverly and taking into account which brand your photo is especially aimed at; then we will surely like it.
WOW! version: Photo or video showing your artistic talent and technical skill in which you perfectly combine a BALLET PAPIER product with another brand's item but in which our product clearly stands out MUCH MORE than that of the other or other brands. Where the protagonist is clearly BALLET PAPIER. Take care that the other products you include do not compete or steal attention.
AND PLEASE! An important and general recommendation for all cases is that you do not forget that when you take this type of photos or videos you must tag and name FIRST the brand for which the post is directed and then separately name the other brands. So your post will be a real COMBO BOMBO TOTAL WOW!
WOOPS! version: Photo or video showing your artistic talent and technical skill in which you combine a BALLET PAPIER product with products from another or other brands but that these other products compete too much or stand out in the same way or even more than ours.
Example of a “COMBO BOMBO WOOPS!” post would be: you wearing a BALLET PAPIER combined with leotard, leg warmers, warm boots, tiara, and a bag from another or other brands.
*Regarding "these all in one" photos or Combos: Do you want to know a secret? These types of photos may be very practical when it comes to saving effort and photoshoots, but they are definitely the ones that convince the brands the least; and we'll explain why: the brands feel more pampered when we are the absolute protagonists in a photo or video!
Imagine how you would feel if you were given a leading role in a show, but you would have to share your "solo" with two other dancers with secondary roles doing a dance forward and stealing the attention of the audience ... frustrating right?
CASE 4: MASTERS OF LIGHT
WOW! version: Photo or video showing your artistic talent and technical skill with excellent natural light, highlighting the BALLET PAPIER product you want to show, while also highlighting you. Avoid midday light; it is too strong and makes very hard shadows on the face. It is always better in the early morning or late afternoon.
WOOPS! version: Photo or video showing your artistic talent and technical skill but in a dark, poorly lit place, or on the contrary; that it has such an excess of light that practically you cannot distinguish your features or the BALLET PAPIER product that you want to show; other WOOPS! Version would be taking photos with artificial light or backlighting, so we would have to guess what you are wearing.
CASE 5: LESS IS MORE AND MORE IS LESS
WOW! version: Photo or video of you showing your artistic talent and technical skill in a tidy room or in a space that does not have too many elements that can distract attention. The spaces you choose should serve as a framework to show off the BALLET PAPIER product and to shine yourself!
WOOPS! version: Photo or video of you showing your artistic talent and technical skill in an environment or space full of objects, a messy place or a background with something that captures more attention than what you are showing off. Also, a photo in which details appear that detract from quality and could be easily avoided if the angle is chosen well (for example a picture where a door frame or part of a distracting object appears and that cutting it off you get a neat photo).
CASE 6: THERE'S NO EXCUSE TO BE BORED
WOW! version: Photo or video showing your artistic talent and technical prowess with a neutral background (a studio-style single-color background, against a wall, against the blue sky, in front of a door, etc.). A neutral background that helps you and the product stand out. To make it interesting, use your imagination to make fun and original images with that neutral background! Make us fall in love with the product you want to show us!
WOOPS! version: Photo or video with a neutral background, but in a pose that does not convey anything: neither your artistic talent, nor your technical skills, nor your imagination.
Finally, a word of advice to create your posts: don't feel restrained thinking that maybe you won't do it right! Have a lot of fun, don't be afraid to experiment and show us your creativity, originality and enthusiasm! To create a "WOW!" content there will always be some "WOOPS! in the process"
